Sankeys - history of Sankeys & Sankeys Soap

Sankeys history has been etched into dance music legend. Since it first opened in June 1994, Sankeys history has seen the Manchester club create an impressive name for itself on the local, national and international dance music scene, hosting globally-recognised DJs alongside underground club nights.

Located in the two-hundred year old Beehive Mill in Manchester, the venue has had several different guises throughout Sankeys history. Four years into its opening, it was closed, creating a two-year gap Sankeys history.
The early noughties brought success to the Sankeys history book. The club won several awards including the Best Small Club title from Mixmag, while DJs and producers including Sasha and Kenny ‘Dope’ Gonzales took to the decks. In turn, all of this and more created a piece of Sankeys history, adding to its esteemed reputation.
A new chapter to Sankeys history began after co-owners Sacha Marchionne and David Vincent sold the club to new owners in 2006. Sankeys history moved swiftly after that: after a brief refurbishment, the club - originally known as Sankeys Soap - was re-opened, re-named and rejuvenated, ready to make more Sankeys history. Every week, a new success story is added to the pages of Sankeys history. Recent sets from the likes of Steve Angello and Eric Prydz have gone down in Sankeys history. Sankeys now has five areas for clubbers to enjoy, and whether they have been a previous part of Sankeys history or are newcomers, the club is an attractive clubbing experience for any dance fan.

The club will celebrate more Sankeys history when it reaches its 15th anniversary on June 19 this year, with parties planned to take place over three months until September 29 2009. Each of those, no doubt, will add another footnote to Sankeys history.
